    1. LCD is still more powerful function than plasma.

      Advantage: As of December 2007, the very best LCDs can approach the contrast ratios of plasma displays in terms of delivering a deep black.
      Advantage: LCDs typically have longer response times than their plasma and CRT counterparts, especially older displays, creating visible ghosting when images rapidly change.

      Disadvantage: LCD panels using TN tend to have a limited viewing angle relative to CRT and plasma displays.

      For Sky HD Channels, I’d prefer using LCD TV-HD ready. By LCD, You have more choices to go bigger in ratio of screen size with reasonable price.

    2. only the cheaper LCD tvs use the inferior TN panels. look for 178 degree viewing angle in the specs to make sure you’re getting S-IPS or PVA
